Simple yet flavorful thali at Hotel Ritz , Camp Pune

Descent Dining Experience

While the restaurant services North Indian , South Indian and fast food , the highlight is the Gujarati Thali . The consists of a four vegetable items , dal , kadhi , salad , papad, pickle, chutneys , phulkas  plain rice and a special rice preparation along with a sweet . When we went there the menu of the day consisted of a moong bhaji ( fritters made from split, skinned  green gram) which were crispy and delicious . The salad was simple with cucumbers, onions , tomatoes and cabbage. Dahi Wada has always been a favourite amongst many . The four vegetable items in the thali included Paneer Corn , Chole ( chickpeas curry ) , a bottlegourd with besan balls and the highlight was rajwadi aloo which looked something similar to potato fries but was more flavourful , spicy worth trying again. Fulkas are always apt to go with such a menu . Special rice preparation was dal khichadi along with ghee and to sum up we were given an option of  moong dal halwa or gulab jam. We ended up trying both and were just the perfect end to a good descent meal.

Nothing extravagant about the thali or the place. It doesn’t look like a feast , but if you like it simple with a good ambience at descent price of Rs 325 for an unlimited thali , then this place is worth a try.
